    • And as for “what if I get sick the last week” (or those last three days)......   well, you’d get sick pay. Would you go into your new workplace?   HMRC may not be bothered by 2 overlapping jobs of course, but if NHS CFS (counter fraud And security) noticed that either: a) you were claiming over-lapping sick pay for 2 jobs, or b) you were claiming sick pay for one job while well enough to turn in for the other: expect them to view at least one of the sick pay claims as fraudulent!   if you annoy your “difficult” manager : they might be difficult enough to highlight it for the local NHS CF specialist
    • Hello, Can someone advise if the attached is a valid charge please?  I had parked in the car park and paid but then got delayed and have ended up with a ticket for parking longer than I should have done.   I know they will refuse the appeal but is this charge enforceable?   Charge Notice.pdf
    • The dealer is called Carwise in Epping. It's not the most established of premises. When i was there i'd say there was about 10-15 cars inside and an office. I've seen these reviews of them which seem to replicate my experience. https://www.cardealerreviews.co.uk/dealership/hr-autos-epping-essex-england (note previous name). It's quite worrying.
    • To me, it isn't just about social distancing and hygiene measures. I'm far from the first to say it but until there's a reliable track and trace system, I don't think this can be managed properly.   Children may not suffer as much as adults, although some do, they can be asymptomatic and pass on the virus to the rest of the family.   https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/uk-news/lockdown-david-king-second-wave-18739973
    • When will most schools actually re-open in September ?   And when they open, will they be providing teaching over the number hours 9am to 3pm  ?   I am thinking of the school I attended, which was a large Victorian building, with many modern extensions.  The classrooms which could accommodate about 35 Children elbow to elbow, will only be able to accommodate 20 at the most with any reasonable distancing.   Or does the whole class  of say 35 stay in a bubble and the teachers move around to teach the different subjects ?    I can see many schools opening later in September, not for all pupils for all days and not doing the full hours.   This is going to be very difficult to manage for all those concerned, including parents looking to return to work.

    • Hi,
I was in Sainsbury’s today and did scan and shop.
I arrived in after a busy day at work and immediately got distracted by the clothes.

I put a few things in my trolley and then did a shop.
I paid and was about to get into my car when the security guard stopped me and asked me to come back in.

I did and they took me upstairs.
I was mortified and said I forgot to scan the clothes and a conditioner, 5 items.
I know its unacceptable but I was distracted and Initially hadn’t really planned to use scan and shop.

      No excuse.
I offered to pay for the goods but the manager said it was too late.
He looked at the CCTV and because I didn’t try to scan the items he was phoning the police.

The cost of the items was about £40.
I was crying at this point and told them I was a nurse, just coming from work and I could get struck off.

They rang the police anyway and they came and issued me with a community resolution notice, which goes off my record in a year.
I feel terrible. I have to declare this to my employer and NMC.

They kept me in a room on my own with 4 staff and have banned me from all stores.
The police said if I didn’t do the community order I would go to court and they would refer me to the PPS.

      I’m so stressed,
can u appeal this or should I just accept it?

      Thanks for reading

Hi,

I parked in a motorbike bay, were the sign stated that the last 12 meters of the bay is suspended. Now the end of the bay is taken over by contrusction and a makeshift bridge for pedestrain, but the rest of the bay is open . There is no clear demarcation where the 12 meter mark is or anything! even the parking warden said they don't know where exactly they are suposed to start charging from. Well scince my usual parking place was suspended and this was the only available place, I parked my bike here between other already parked bikes assumeing it was within the limit and not part of the suspension (still being and always being used by bikes!). Well I went for my vacations, and when i came back i went to move my bike back to its usual spot. I went a week later and regreted not moving it immidiatly. THere were two PCN stuck on it (and a third not belonging to my bike, I presume someone thought they would shove theres and hope i pay!). Well I was furious due to the ambiquity of the signs but payed the charges as i just wanted it all to go away, this was on the 20.09. I recieved my first NTO a week ago for non payment of a PCN that was not one of those stuck on my bike!! I did not know i could challege this and just paid the £120. Now i have paid a total of £240 for parking in a suspended bay. The parking warden informed me that they are not suposed to put more than 2 fines on a vehicle!!! someone abviously thought it was funny to keep ripping and tossing mine so i kept getting tickets. Now this week i have gotten another NTO. This time I called the council on suggestion of my friend, tellign them that I did not recive a PCN, they asked me to write this on the blank page supplied, and request that i only pay the original £60 and not hte £120 they were now charging due to no PCN.

As I was about to do that i noticed that the street name was wrong on my NTO!!! I never parked in Winsland street [b5], i had parked in london street! on questioning a warden (i went and did some detective work), he assured me that the street name was indeed wrong and that there had been no parking suspension for the date in question (sunday, 29.08.10 at 18:19--- who gives out tickets at that time!!) or any suspension there in the last month! Also I should not have recived more that 2 PCN.

Here comes my question, how do i go about writing that the ticket has the wrong street on it? How do i prove that that street had no parking suspension as proof that if i were parked there i would not have been charged ! (I have searched through the city of westminister site but cant find a list of their bay suspensions!)

Also, the warden informs me that i should not have gotten more than 2 tickets! (I have already paid 3, this is the fourth one i have now. The fellow i spoke to at the city of westminster office also informed me that there are still 3 other tickets to which they will be sending me my NTO's once the 14 days expires at which time i can put a letter saying I did not recive the PCN and only pay £60, but only once the letters arrive, he would not give me info over the phone!)

Please any help would be great. I have to sell my bike to meet these costs!

Appeal them. Don't wait for NTOs - call back and insist they provide you with the PCN numbers. Try not to get into an argument! Just insist and if they won't, ask to speak to a manager. Try and stay calm and polite - you should get what you want.

Then appeal, citing the PCN numbers. Explain that you were away. Cite the two PCN rule. Say that the combined charges are "not proportional".

Write separately regarding the third paid, saying you paid in error and that you understand it should not have been enforced.

Regarding the one with the wrong street - this is definite grounds for cancellation. Write in, separately again, and point out that the bike was not in that street on that day, and that if they have photographs of the contravention it will confirm that the PCN was issued in a different street. This renders the PCN invalid and they should cancel it.

Don't pay anything further until you have exhausted all the appeals options. I predict you will not have to pay them all!
