Please could someone explain why 70 years ago this island lost more than half of the male population to defend our rights and way of life.

Then we have excel parking a PRIVATE car parking regulator. Who are monitoring very small squares of land and making a very large profit. Is there a legal requirement as to how big the writing on a parking notice has to be especially when it is 6ft up a pole, and written in size 18 font. Why do people accept this behavior and do nothing to stop this unacceptable practice. can anyone shed a glimmer of hope

It's a contract, so to make it enforceable the wording has to be correct and it has to be visible. No specific requirements though.

Of course, 99.9% of the time the charge isn't enforceable because it amounts to a contractual penalty and isn't related to losses incurred.

It's a mail [problem]. Anybody can send out invoices, but it only works because people fall for it. Sadly not everybody Googles when they get one of their joke tickets.

Blame the government as well - the [problem] only exists because the DVLA sell anybody's address to anybody for £2.50 a pop.

That's a completely fictional notion. Most of the rights I think you are referring to were installed after the War was over. Private landlordism, slums and overcrowding were rife - "very small sqares of land and making a very large profit". The war had nothing to do with defending or addressing these things in any way.

I beleive EXCEL are a member of the British Parking Associations APPROVED OPERATOR SCHEME..

Therefore their signs must comply to their professional code of practice.

Take a look at their code of practice, and tally it up with their signs (there is a section in the COP titled 'Signs')

List down everything that they have breached.. inform them of the breaches they have made... sit back and wait for them to confirm your ticket has been cancelled.
