As a Saints supporter and keen Rugby League fan, news of Terry's death at the age of only 31 is bad.

Terry was by no means the golden boy of RL,and fans hated him because he courted controversy both on and off the field.

Theres no specifics as yet as to the cause of death-only to say he was found dead at home.

He was banned from the sport not too long ago following disciplinary from the RFL on charges of misconduct.

Terry played for the biggest clubs in Superleague, and will be missed-on the field he was one of those players every team would prefer to be on their side.

This is a very sad day for RL

From a Saints fan -we never saw eye to eye-but did not want to see this.

RIP TN.

How desperately sad this is. I follow both league and union but never knew any names. We will never know how he felt in his last days. I just hope that his family will be well supported.

Damn, what a waste

It's impossible to imagine what goes through the mind of somebody who takes their own life in these circumstances. He was young and still had a lot to offer. As a Rugby League fan I too am saddened by this and I remember Newton well.

Before you criticise another man you should first walk a mile in his shoes. Then, when you criticise him, you'll be a mile away and he won't have any shoes on.

Don't get me confused with somebody knowledgeable by all those green blobs. I got most of them by making people laugh.

I am not European, I am English.
