No to put it simple.

 

If it has been 6 years the debt will also be statue barred! Not only can they not default you again neither can they claim for any monies.

.........provided that you've paid nothing and have not admitted or acknowledged liability for the debt during that six yr period :-)

They can only default the account once and they must have the required paperwork to back this up. Companies will abuse the right as and when they choose; if you spot it you can challenge it, like I have done, but the sad fact is many people do not challenge them.
