Surely though, they are contravening OFT guidelines in suggesting borrow more money to satisfy a debt.

I would hang onto that letter and report them online to OFT and TS at Consumer Direct

Not going to hyjack this thread, but just a quicky:

Daughter in a mess with Littlewoods and they offered her an extended payment plan. I am trying to deal with it because they have told her to sign a CCA agreeing to a loan of £1273.56 over 156 weeks, total amount payable £2047.19.

Would this be in breach of OFT guidelines? was waiting on the outcome of the CCA request before I started a new thread.

Sorry for jumping in Emma x

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

It would seem as though they are trying to create a signed CCA to make this 'old' and probably unenforceable debt enforceable.

Whilst offering to turn this amount into a new loan, I still feel that in some way they are trying to get round the OFT guidlines, a matter of personal opinion I guess. They are offering a 'new' enforceable loan to replace and pay off an old unenforceable loan - my take anyware.

Every journey begins with a single step :):)

The only person entitled to your Personal Finance details is a Judge not a DCA

Move all banking activity to another banking group if you have a dispute - your funds can be used to offset debts within the same group.

Be careful with Banking details (card/account numbers) as these can be used to take unauthorised payments.
