isle of man UK credit file check

Hi All,

 

I have searched a lot on various forums to find an answer. If anyone can point me to another thread with the answer please feel free to do so.

 

So my Q.

After leaving the UK in 2005 I may have some bad marks on my credit file. I have tried the usual route of the online methods but all three say they can not find me. If I wish to return to the UK for a limited time on secondment and have to have my pay credited to a £ sterling account can I set up an offshore account on Isle of Man, Jersey etc without them doing a UK credit check.

My company will provide accommodation and phone so the only thing I need is a bank account. If I do have any black marks they should be gone by end of 2011 so if I can leave sleeping dogs lie I would prefer it.

Welcome to the site.

Not sure exactly of the questons can you be more specific ?

Credit reference agencies tag by name and date of birth as well as other things.

My basic question is, do the banks on Isle of Man do credit checks on UK credit files the same as mainland banks do?
