Damage to floors by courier delivering to me

I ordered a fridge freezer from Littlewoods Catalogue which was delivered 2 weeks ago today. When the Home Shopping delivery men were taking the old appliance out, they scratched my laminate in my hall and just into my lounge. They admitted liability at the time and were heard to speak to their office about the incident.

 

I phoned Littlewoods to complain about the damage straightaway and received a letter (no phone call) back to say they would investigate the matter with the couriers and would respond within 14 days.

 

14 days is now up - can someone advise what I should do next. Obviously I want my laminate repaired or replaced asap.

 

PLEASE HELP!

As papasmurf1cx suggests, get estimates for the supply and fitting of the damaged flooring. If the flooring is no longer availiable then get a quote for replacing it all and send to Littlewoods. It is up to Littlewoods to redeem their loss from the courier company if it was not their own delivery men.

Have you got estimates for the damage? Quotations to mend it?

 

Why don't you write and ask what is happening to remedy the problem.

 

I've sent an email to them today requesting that they source a contractor to replace the floors within 7 days. I've also advised that otherwise I will take legal action. Lets hope this gets them to make a move. I will go out tomorrow and see if I can get quotes that I can send to them.

Yes I've got photos. Not sure if laminate can be repaired as the scratches are quite deep. Trouble is that its going to be quite expensive as the laminate runs from conservatory, through lounge and into hall. I already know that the store doesnt sell that same type anymore as we went in after some more when we got the front porch.

I dont really care who looks at it as long as it gets fixed LOL. Thats why I told them in my email that they needed to source a contractor to repair or replace the laminate within 7 days.

I am just letting you know that as you haven't had any replies to your post yet, it might be better if you post your message again in an appropriate sub-forum. You will get lots of help there.

 

Also take some time to read around the forum and get used to the layout. It is a big forum and takes a lot of getting used to.

 

 

Once you start to find your way, you will soon realise that it is fairly easy to get round and to get the help you need.
