Hi everyone, I'm new to all this DWP stuff. I was made redundant in July 2010, signed on for JSA Contributions based, started having physio once a week and taking a daily cocktail of painkillers for a back pain. My back pain is so bad I can't walk, sit or stand for more than 15 - 20 mins at a time. I don't enjoy being in pain, and was only claiming JSA while looking for a new job, jobcentre told me that i was not fit for work, so had to claim esa, now have my atos assessment on sat 25th september, but my hospital appt not until 11th october. what happens if atos say i am fit for work (which my GP says not and wants an MRI scan of my neck and back) I appreciate that there are some people in this country that take advantage of the system, and everyone gets tarred with the same brush. I want to work, but at the moment I can't it takes a huge effort just to do mundane things around the home like washing up. Sorry for the rant everyone, but between all these flaming DWP letters I keep getting and forms to fill in and the constant pain I'm really fed up, and worried that I will be one of these people who get 0 points.

Hello Duplock and welcome to the forum. I think you would be better off starting your own thread with specific questions about your problem. You'll have seen that you're not along in having problems with the system. I hope someone will be along later with some thoughts on how to deal with the combined Atos/hospital issue.

In the meantime, I'll ask the site team to look at your post and start a new thread for you if they think it's the right thing. They should send you a PM [personal message] to tell you if it's moved.

My best, HB
