Annoying Call centres

Hi there

Barclays must have the RECORD for the most irritating Call centres on the planet. Just when you thought the whole experience couldn't get any worse they've added this final extra piece of excruciating torture.


You now have to ANSWER some questions by VOICE to a machine such as "SAY your Connect or membership number" or "Is this YOUR OWN or Someone else's mortgage".


Also why is it that invariably you get a message "All our operators are busy. we'll connect you ASAP" while you could be hanging on for 15 - 25 mins.


I remember even 20 years ago you used to get messages that "there are xxx people in the queue before you so you SHOULD be answered within 5 mins.


Now if they could do that 20 years ago why can't we at least get that message back - instead of taking a gamble on how long you'll have to wait -- and even better we have the technology these days - why can't the call centre call YOU back once there's a free agent available.


Honestly using the phone to call large organisations these days is a TOTAL NIGHTMARE -- an old fashioned fax works better now.
