    • Can you ask your GP to get a second opinion on the NHS?  (I ought to know because I'm a retired NHS manager, but worked in mental health where x-rays didn't really feature very much(!).)   Your GP may be reluctant for various reasons but you've got nothing to lose by asking.  Might be difficult if there's only one consultant in that specialty locally.   If that is a non-starter, you could ask your GP for a private referral if any of the relevant specialists run private clinics.  Your son'll get seen quicker and an initial private consultation shouldn't cost more than about a couple of hundred quid.  Then take it from there.   (Emphasise to your GP what your real concerns are and why you have them - even if it's just "I looked it up on the internet and it looks like this which can lead to serious complications.  What do you think?  I'm really worried...")   EDIT:  Just looked on my local NHS Clinical Commissioning Group website and searched for "second opinion" but nothing comes up...  I thought you were entitled to one - you'll have to ask your GP.  Or look on your own CCG site.  Oh - despite being a NHS manager I have paid to see a consultant privately.  £150 well spent - if you can afford it... which I appreciate not everyone can.
    • dont think they are even allowed to offer settlement by instalments, they are not creditors.   read the letter carefully and understand what it doesn't actually say....like the word WILL anywhere.   they,  a DCA, can't recommend anything and their client most certainly wouldn't have disclosed anything to a powerless DCA about what their solicitors might or might not have said to them. and ofcourse a solicitor is in no position whatsoever to suggest to their client they get back to the DCA and tell the DCA to tell you their client will accept instalments!   the letter is a load of ole BS that is concocted by the dca without any input or knowledge of their client nor their clients solicitor...   dx
    • The paediatric orthopaedic consultant at the fracture clinic told us today that he believes it is just a sprain behind the knee. I'm concerned my GP will say something along the lines of, 'you have seen a consultant, he says it will heal in 2 to 3 weeks, you don't know more than him!', or something like that. It's just that I believe I can clearly see a fracture. And as there was no fall or hard knock, only a very tightly streched knee bending at an angle behind, with a load. I figured that the temdon must have pulled some bone up. And thats the injury I found online. I totally take on board what you are saying. You are correct. I guess I'll see what my GP says tomorrow, hopefully she allows me to email the images, if she doesent have access to them already. Thanks again

    • Hi,
I was in Sainsbury’s today and did scan and shop.
I arrived in after a busy day at work and immediately got distracted by the clothes.

I put a few things in my trolley and then did a shop.
I paid and was about to get into my car when the security guard stopped me and asked me to come back in.

I did and they took me upstairs.
I was mortified and said I forgot to scan the clothes and a conditioner, 5 items.
I know its unacceptable but I was distracted and Initially hadn’t really planned to use scan and shop.

      No excuse.
I offered to pay for the goods but the manager said it was too late.
He looked at the CCTV and because I didn’t try to scan the items he was phoning the police.

The cost of the items was about £40.
I was crying at this point and told them I was a nurse, just coming from work and I could get struck off.

They rang the police anyway and they came and issued me with a community resolution notice, which goes off my record in a year.
I feel terrible. I have to declare this to my employer and NMC.

They kept me in a room on my own with 4 staff and have banned me from all stores.
The police said if I didn’t do the community order I would go to court and they would refer me to the PPS.

      I’m so stressed,
can u appeal this or should I just accept it?

      Thanks for reading

Hi hope someone can help me please

in brief

Many years ago approx 98/99ish i had a CC from RBS i defaulted on the payments and moved away years later 04 Connaught contacted me i started paying the debt at £30pm which i paid from may 04 - may 07 a few months prior to this i started receiving letters from Mackenzie Hall and Mertforce stupidly i rang mackenzie Hall and they were B******s i ended up in tears I asked them what had happenend to all the money that i had paid to Connaught (they were asking for a lot more than i owed) i did manage to say to them when they had found out about all the money i had paid and where it was i would consider paying them because of the letters from MHall and Meritforce i stopped my standing Order as i didnt know what to belive anymore.

I have periodically (couple in 08 couple in 09) received letters from them all and have ignored them i have recently moved apr this year and i am now being contacted again they have left criptic!!! messages on my phone and today BCW group sent me a text how do these people get your details??

1st credit were on my credit report but it came off at the end of last year so am i right to assume it was on there for 6yrs? anyway not sure if its back on have not looked well i assume not considering i got a mortgage this year!

I am sick of these letters and now calls personally i am not in a good place and do not want to live in dread

My question is what should my next step be or any advice from those more experienced than me on what i should do? who owns this debt who are all these companies?

Thank you

OK, Hi and Welcome,

My suggestion would be to send BCW the 'prove it' letter. You need to watch these particular lot because they are know to sneak CCJs through when people change addresses.

I note that they have sent you a text, so I assume they want you to telephone them, so I would advise that most of us on this site say not to get into telephone conversations with them, as they lie and get your head in a right mess!! Wait until they write and send the above mentioned letter.

These companies play pass the parcel with out alleged debts, but many of them are connected, and in some cases are actually just the next desk along in the same office.

They are to be pitied and certainly not feared, you have taken the first step by coming onto this site, and the only way is 'up' from now on.

Every journey begins with a single step :):)

Please note: I have no qualifications in this area - my advice is learned from the wonderful members of this Forum. Thanks to you all for your help.

If you have found my post helpful please leave a short message by clicking the star to the left of my profile - Thank You

The only person entitled to your Personal Finance details is a Judge not a DCA

Move all banking activity to another banking group if you have a dispute - your funds can be used to offset debts within the same group.

Be careful with Banking details (card/account numbers) as these can be used to take unauthorised payments.

good advice above, but also send a letter to connaught (1st credit offsoot) and demand tht they explain what the hell is happening, more to the point where is all the money you have paid, then report them to the OFT for being complete idiots

The last letters that i got in 08 they were for the amount i beleived it to be not some random figure so like you say they are sat at adjacent desks then they have actually spoken to each other but i will wait until i get a letter from whoever but when you say the prove it letter is that to ask for the CCA? and is this original agreement i signed for the credit card? but who do i send it to the last one who writes or all of them?

How can they sneak a ccj in?

Many thanks it helps to know there are people who are helpful with these people and know the right way to go about sorting it out

Thank you

CCA goes to the one now chasing you, they try and get a ccj by using your last address and then all of a sudden they wite to you at your new address with a ccj, if they do this it is easy to get it set aside

Hi lets go over a few points,

1. Does the debt show on your credit files?

2.When was the last pyment and or acknowledgment made.?

3. Did you ever get the CCA?

Hi

1. As far as I am aware no. It definetly was not on when I applied for a mortgage in 2010 couldnt of been in 2011 when I had a further advance and I have just changed CC and given me a high limit so I would assume I have a clean credit history!

2 The last payment was made I beleive in May 07

3 I never received a CCA- sorry forgive me that is the Credit Card Agreement?

It was on my credit file but came of at the end of 09 so it had been there for 6 years (is that right?)

Many thanks

You really need to get up to date credit reports asap.

Lat payment then 6 years no payment or acknowledgment

so may 2013.

All defaults are removed after 6 years paid or not.

If all you have said is definite then this statute barred.

So when you say statute barred is that from 2013? as in 6 years from the last payment? or because it was on my credit file for 6 years but came off in 09

many thanks its all so confusing especially when all these companies are interlinked one way or another

Statute Barred and defaults on credit files are

entirely seperate enities.

Statute Barred is 6 years from the date of rhe

last payment ever made, ( no payment or

acknowledgement in 6 clear year, 5 in Scotland).

All entries are removed from credit files paid or

not.
