We have twins a brother and sister who both bank with Lloyds TSB Recently the sister moved into her own flat and took out house insurance with the bank. When the documents were issued we noticed they had been sent in her twin brothers name !!! On contacting them we believed that the problem was solved.

Yesterday the brother went to check his account via internet banking and noticed that some money he had transferred from his savings account was showing as transferred from his sisters name (she does not have a savings account with them) so he called the bank to find out what was going on. He was horrified when he was told that they would not speak to him as the account was in another name and they would not tell him who the name was, putting 2+2 together we thought that it may be his sisters name and another hour and a half phone call later it seems that we were correct.

This is the skeleton of the tale but conains the bulk of the information.

The problem is that we have a brother who cant administer his own money due to the banks incompetance and a sister who is not sure if her property is insured because the documents have been issued in her brothers name and a bank who are useless. What can we do about it?

Done that and left feeling frustrated. However they did phone back and now the brothers accounts have been returned to him. Does Data Protection apply here?
