Hi there,

against my advice, my nephew bought a nitro powered remote controlled model car from an online store.

It arrived but will not start.

I sent the vendor a email asking him what the procedure is to send it back.

I got a message saying they would not take it back as it has had fuel inside it!!!

Legally where do we stand?

We live in the UK

Thanking you for your advice.

distant selling rules

have a read up.

there are rules about petrol through the post too

you might have to flush the tank .

not too sure on that

but its cheeky for them to use this as a n excuse

they should be able to tell you what to do to make it safe to post back

if you paid by credit card...do a chargeback to your CC provider.

Rejections must be done by letter (unless stated otherwise on their site), so get one off immediately, by email 'and' by recorded post so you are covered should they try and drag this out.

Although this will be because it 'might' be faulty, if they receive it within the 7 working days allowed, then you are covered either way

Hi

Welcome to The Consumer Action Group.

I am just letting you know that as you haven't had any replies to your post yet, it might be better if you post your message again in an appropriate sub-forum. You will get lots of help there.

Also take some time to read around the forum and get used to the layout. It is a big forum and takes a lot of getting used to.

Once you start to find your way, you will soon realise that it is fairly easy to get round and to get the help you need.

It can be bit confusing at first.

Please be advised that my time will be limited for the next few weeks. Thanks for your understanding.
