Morning all.......

Stupidly, I purchased a brand new Astra last June from a Vauxhall dealer.

It started making a funny noise, (sounds similar to a fan belt slipping). Returned to the dealer in Nov/Dec, who, by diagnosing it from my impression fitted a new turbo. Impressive, I know! (They also showed me a letter stating that some models had turbo issues).

Get it back...still making the funny noise.......

Car has been in with dealer 2 or 3 times since, (I've lost count), and all I get is they can't hear or find a fault.

My husband is a mechanic, all be it not a car mechanic, but expressed his opinion as to what said noise is (ball bearing/dry pully?), and it falls on deaf ears. All they do is hook it up to a computer, and if the computer says no....I don't actually think they've 'looked' at it at all.

I have now taken it to another Vauxhall dealer, who is basically saying the same thing.

This seems to be the norm. Pretty sure they would find out the problem if there was no warranty and I was paying.

Where do I stand on the issue? Who should I get advice from? Any helpful advice would be much appreciated :(

Regards
