I was finally awarded 100% Council Tax Benefit 7 weeks ago after 4 weeks of supplying information. Now I have received a letter advising me I will have a visit to review my situation and need to supply up to date information.

I rang the Council to ask why and the lady put me on hold and transferred me to another department who would only say they needed to see an up to date original of all bank statements and Benefit awards. When I pointed out that meant only 1 months wages slip from my wife and 1 months bank statements, I was told that it was standard practice and their legal right to visit to examine our details.

Is this normal practice?

fraid so..they did same to myself and had to collect 3 months statements etc
