I was advised to make a request under data Protection Acts 1984&1998 as the “right of subject access” as Orange refused previously to send me any documents.

If anybody knows the address of the Orange where I can send this request?

I can confirm that is the registered address of Orange is

Was this done by phone or by letter ?

Also can you give me some idea as to what information you need from them ?

Have you looked at the letter that needs to be sent to them ?

Also you do know that there is a £10 fee to pay also for this yes ?

Arrow Global said in their letter that Orange refused to provide document under act 1974. So we decided to send “subject to access” and ask them to send us a Service agreement.

Yes. I know we need to send £10.

I presume this is because you made a request for information under the Consumer Credit Act 1974 and sent a cheque for £1. This Act doesn't apply to mobile phone companies so they would refuse to provide data on these grounds.

Yes agreed.

Also the OFT Debt collection guidelines apply only to CCA related account defaults or disputes.

 

Arrow Global are CSA members though-so Alina could use the CSA codes of practice which would cover an expectation to have any queries dealt with under those codes.

If Arrow Global are trying to enforce collection then they are responsible for supplying information whether they are acting as agent or assignee.

If they cannot supply the info,then they should either get it from Orange or else pass the account back.

Orange are still obliged to fulfil a SAR request if made,regardless as to whether they still own the account or not.

A customer care woman at Orange gave me the following address for data protection issues - it wasn't any use for the problem I have with them (just another diversionary tactic to prevent them giving me an address for the complaints dept.!) but hopefully may be of use to others:
