Hello, if anyone has any thoughts on this, then Id love to read them! We have a cottage which sits on a unadopted road, this road is a dead end with no exit apart from the one you come onto the road on, with our cottage being at the end of this road, facing directly onto it and the property is shaped like an L shape, so takes up the whole corner. The building on the other side to us was old, and finally was converted into a tiny flat, they converted the ground floor into storage but managed to put a garage door on it. The width of the road is a single car width only facing our cottage but it does develop into double car width (Just) further up, but the cottage owners park their cars leaving one car width. Many years ago our cottage was part of a huge storage building dating back to the 1870's which sits facing this unadopted road, and ourselves and the other folks using this road to park directly outside their home mend the road as and when needed. So everyone has just taken it as their right to park.

Well, my question is, who has right of way if this chap decides (he is only renting this flat btw) to kick up a fuss and wants to park his car in his garage, this would prevent us from parking outside our house, as he wants right of way. I ask incase this is brought up, as he's started dropping bit hints, my husband is like a bull in a china shop and flatly refuses to move his car if when this happens. Can we refuse legally?

Just your thoughts, many thanks :)
