Hi all

I,ll get straight to the point,rented me house out last year took out landlord ins buildings only.i have moved back in for now, thinking of renting again maybe sometime in 2011,can i just keep landlord ins with me in the property to save changing back and forth from one to the other just saves paperwork etc.am i breaking any law?

My guess (and it is a guess) is that as you are not a landlord at the moment, your landlord policy will NOT cover you. Remember, insurers always look for any way out when it comes to a claim. For what it is worth, I would change and then change again. It may cost you a £100 or more, but that is very small compared to the £28,000 loss when they refuse to pay out if there was a fire etc because you didn't tell them you moved back in and were no longer a landlord.
