Hi all,

Its a bit late but I have to go to court in a cpl of hours for no tv license...

Now I dropped myself in it when they came round (woke me up on a sunday morning, i was half asleep when talking and basically said what they wanted), and its only when they sent the interview sheet to me that i realised what i had said ( have a tv, watched it yest, thought i was licensed ect)......

BUT

Upon reading it carefully all the dates are wrong, they came round last month (July) but claimed the interview took place in February...

The date they claimed to have received the information is at the end of June which seems a while off of february...

And also the signature on the bottom of the interview dosn't look anything like mine and i'm pretty sure I didnt sign anything...

Any ideas?

Thanks

It'll come to court regardless. You then need to throw so much doubt on the 'evidence' as to ake it worthless. If this relates to a June visit, it does seem pretty quick to have this appearing in court - could they have done the same thing to someone at your address in February, as it may relate to a different flat at a similar location. Also, your signature as supplied by them also needs to be discredited.

Cheers mate, in the end I went there and realised its just a fix when they said I couldnt have a duty solicitor and the only person i was expected to get help from was the tv license prosecutor.....I just got angry with him called him a few choice words and left....probably not the best thing to have done but oh well....cheers anyway

As it is a criminal action, the lack of a duty solicitor is lamentable, but not surprising in this day and age. Shame if your intolerance of them makes it easy for them to get their way.
