The OFT refused to grant a licence on the grounds that Mr O’Rourke did not have the specialist skills, knowledge, practices or procedures in place to become a licensed debt collector

----------------

So why is this person different to all the other pondlife DCA's, I think the OFT should apply its criteria fairly

Quote of the year 2010?

"Debt collection is a high risk area and we have a duty to protect consumers. Anyone who does not meet the necessary standards of competence will not be allowed to engage in this activity." :-x:-x

As of 03/03/12 please do not under any circumstances wait for my further input or guidance on any current thread or defence of a court claim I might have been involved in on or through Cag.

Exactly what I was thinking earlier but never posted. I won't post it but I read of a debt collector in the press recently ... um ... well, they were violent to someone ... over a very small debt ... in their home ... Whilst the article didn't say whether they were just someone who was owed money as they referred to him as a 'debt collector' thus putting into the minds of readers perhaps wrongly he was, it did cross my mind what would happen if that person ever was employed in the future by a debt collection agency. Just something I remembered reading a few weeks ago.

Or................................... perhaps he was polite, with a good mastery of the English Language, had actually read and digested all the guidelines and showed a modicum of compassion:lol:

cloned from the money lenders in the temple.

They were 'cloaned'.

As to the temple ... 30 pieces of silver ... or was it a lot less, depends where you read. ;) Actually, quite possibly 30 pence even in a DCA's case in their eagerness to shackle the next poor victim ne soul in their snare and purchase a debt then pursue said poor soul with the hounds of the apocalypse for the full amount!

Blimey! He must have been really bad to be refused a licence, judging by the calibre of those who have been granted one!

Advice given is my opinion only, I am not a legal or financial expert (far from it).

Do you think they understand what were all on about??

Probably not in my case, as I am a complex individual who confuses himself at times but the one gene I have an abundance of (they do not) is way too much compassion. ;) So, no they definitely wouldn't understand me nor anyone else with the same gene called compassion.
