I'll try and make this short and sweet guys.

  1. I VT'd my car with Welcome finance after reaching £xxx as per the amound stated in T&C's
  2. Welcome confirmed VT and attached bill for almost £3k
  3. I complained to WF and they say the remaining liability is for the insurances I took out with the car
  4. I complained back saying that is doesnt say anywhere in the T&C's I signed about paying back the insurances.

Where do I stand guys? I dont want to hand my car back and still paying the £3k to them. Anyone had expereience of this?

Im thinking about going to my local CAB - do you think this will help?

Cheers,

Fuzzy

Regardless if how the insurance was sold to me it does not state anywhere separately in the agreement about the liability if still paying these once VT'd the car. It just states 1 figure under the termination clause.

I was however sold the insurances in their car showroom. the insurance's are for emergency breakdown, mbi platinum and gap insurance. I don't understand why they just can't be cancelled or whatever!

The manner/method in which the insurance was sold is not irrelevent.

Were you told you had to have this insurance?

Were you told that other companies also sold the same insurance and that you have a choice of where to purchase?

We are looking for mis-selling which would make their claim null and void.

I wasn't told I could purchase elsewhere. I was self employed at the time.

I didn't think the insurances were optional at the time as this wasn't explained to me and never got a figure from them excluding insurances.
