I have debts totallying 7000. half of this is payday loans with 7/8 companies, ive been to my local advice centre and we went through a lot of detail my debts and income.

She suggested I go via bankruptcy. I earn 1100, live with parents and we worked out cost of living was 750. has anybody ever done this, im only 25 and think this is a good suggestion although what worrys me is that my wages may be interfered with etc

if everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's tomorrow

the biggest financial industry in the UK, DCA;s -  would collapse overnight.

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs - that's why they will never tell you they are not bailiffs and have absolutely zero legal powers on any debt.

damn right - you 25, they are idiots. Start with this forum, confirm which payday lenders you owe money too and we can advise what each will accept and how you can get out of the borrowing cycle...

Are they suggesting a debt relief order? I would suggest approaching each company yourself to start with and they may come to arrangement. DOn't jump into antthing until you have look at every possibility

agree bad advice given most of these are small debts and given that you have £250-£300 spare each month your debts are maintainable

you need to be doing this by writing only

never discuss your debts over the phone.

something totally unrelated but might help me with my money

couple of year ago i reclaimed my charges from the bank, can i still do it again for the 2 years which have passed. i estimate over 400 pounds worth which could clear a loan

Timmy is the debt management plan with payplan or cccs non profit making ? If you have be aware that some can put defaults on your credit file and these last 6 years even when paid. The same as bankruptcy.

I beg to differ mone have been very accomodating to my DMP the only one that hasn't responded is Wonga.

As it happens I was also informed by someone at Quickquid that they are in negotiations with CCCS to allow payment via standing order as CCCS have the ability to make bulk payments.
