Hi All

When taking out a Debenhams store card (actually a Santander card) my naive offspring (a student) was then sold a card protection plan by phone (seperate company). There was a 21 day cooling off period. Here's the rub. The first time we noticed this was on the end of month statement sent by the bank and we cancelled immediately - well within the cooling off period. However the card protection firm are claiming 21 days started on date of phone call - not when money was first requested. Would have thought it started on request for payment. Anybody else had a similar issue?

Thanks for any assistance
