We are moving house, so spoke to a nice guy at scs, agreed upon a sofa, agreed upon the finance and most importantly agreed upon the sofa being delivered to the new address.

 

Then spoke with the stressed admin woman today who states that we cannot have the sofa delivered to the new address as we have no proof of this new address.

 

i want the sofa delivered to the new address or the order cancelled.

 

they wont deliver until i provide proof of address but the sofa ' needs to be delivered friday according to them.

 

Thier suggestion is that they will refund me the delivery charge, they will then get a private courier to take the sofa to my new addres for the same amount in order to compy with their credit auditing systems.

 

I think this is just a lie to get me to provide the proof of my old address so they are covered by law for the credit agreement and i will get nothing but hassle trying to sort it out afterwards.

 

I need to find out if I can cancel or make them stick to their agreement and deliver the sofa to the specified address. Should I hold off giving them the proof of my old address? Could they even have a legal agreement if they specify they need this?

 

I can wait till we move and then provide them with the proof of the new address in a couple of weeks. A private courier! All sounds very very dodgy to me.
