Urgent Help Needed! Agency Witholding Pay!

Hello. I'm working as a temp at the moment and I submitted my timesheet, last week, in plenty of time. Unfortunately, due to a change of line manager, my timesheet wasn't authorised until the deadline had past. This was no fault of my own. I chased the new line manager all day. He was waiting for a login ID to the timesheet system and didn't get one until almost 5pm yesterday. As a result, my timesheet was not authorised until way past the deadline. This would result in me not being payed until 6th August for the week just gone. This is unacceptable as I have bills to pay before that date. Having looked at other forums, it seems that the agency cannot withold payment regardless of whether my timesheet was approved by my line manager or not. I have also read The Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003. The agency have said that they cannot do anything and I'll have to wait to be paid and it's my responsibility to get my timesheet authorised. I explained to them that I was chasing it all day so I was trying to do something about it but they're not interested. Nor are they interested in what it says in the Employment Businesses Regulations 2003. Help me please!

Hello, yes we are listening to you.

 

What you are asking is fairly specialised and you need to wait until the right cagger/s come along, I'm afraid. I have never dealt with this personally, sorry.

Have you tried calling the Employment Agency Standards Inspectorate to see if they can advise you further on this matter?
