Hi how to write Data Protection Act request letter in the library DPA REQUEST? Im had 2 gold accounts with nat wes bank, details from one of them i still have another one i dont, can i clame a bank charges if i dont know the account nomber? can any one help me to write the letter in to the bank please.

You can send this letter, with a £10 fee, they have 40 days to comply..........

Sending the request with details of your address ect when you opened the account, should be enough for the bank to send you the information you require.

 

Claiming back charges is more difficult now, have a look at this link.........

im still waiting for dpa from nat west but i all ready recived one from barclays curent account but only summery fee, they didnt sent to me a statement and agreement, so how should i fount down if i was paying unfair charges? and how with this info get schedule? i only have details of paid referral and unpaids out.

what should i do next?

What did you ask Barclays for ?

Did you have more than one account with Barclays ?

You are entitled to copy statements,and if you asked for other specific info such as copies of letters etc then those too.

Banks have been known to argue that a copy of an original agreement under CCA does not constitute personal data.

Can you say exactly what they have sent in terms of pages etc.

Was there any accompanying letter ?

they sent me summery of feec from 2005 till 2008

paid referral 510 & 570 =1080

unpaid out 210

total fees 1290

i just call to bank and thy ask me to writing again to them and asking for a statements and agreements cos account its close and in there its my old address, they also ask me to sent them cheque for 5pounds but i all ready sent to them 10 with first dpa request

Yes right.

The £10 fee covers 1 request for ALL accounts.

Data should be supplied in intelligible form.

Because you are unable to reconcile individual charges by date/amount/and reason for charge,then to me this means it is unintelligible.

They are pulling a fast one here.

Before you chase up Barclays to get further info, can you confirm this is for a bank current a/c.

 

If so, are you looking to reclaim bank charges because you are now, or have been, experiencing financial hardship when the charges were made against your a/c.

I saw that your husband has been on sickness.

the account was additions plus,

i was having financial problems, when bank took money, now was much better with our financial (was on debit management plan with Gregory Pennington) i have little cleaning service, my husband was working as a welder but now he is sick and today was made redundant so I'm afraid i will get in trouble now again.

The reason is that if you are with problems I think it is possible to try to get money back because of situation now.

 

First need to get the statements which will show exactly what they took and when.

After this to send letter to say that you are in difficulty with finance and so are asking under rules of hardship-these are rules for people with difficult problem with finance.

 

First we should get the statements.

Well as i write before i have Cleaning Business but still haven't got many customers, I'm earning around 150 weekly if I'm cleaning on my own, some of jobs are doing my girls all of us are insured and self employed, so need to make some payments to revenue etc. i have 2 children 2 & 3,5 years old, paying for child care about 30 weekly, my husband last day at work will be 30/07/10 (well he is sick, but will have paid till this date + week holiday) we have child tax credit around 180 weekly and lots of creditors to pay back, was on debit management plan but decide left them.

2007, 2008 had my children try to work when my husband couldn't found any jobs, was bit difficile to couped with everything plus i had postnatal depression so really didn't Bouvier now I'm trying to fix everything, my husband was working from 01/2009 on same contract, everything was getting better I hoped to take kids for holiday someway this year, but now cant do so.

You have some information from the bank. But do you have a date for each penalty charge the bank made. A summary that includes many charges and a total with no individual dates is no good to you.

 

If you need to get further info from the bank, we can help you with the letter.
