Hi,

When I moved into the property a year ago I asked for a tenancy agreement..... I'm still waiting for it so effectively don't actually have one.

My house mate moved her boyfriend in and it's now come to a case of three is a crowd and I have been asked to leave. The living situation when he moved in made it a horrible place to live. Whilst I don't have a problem with leaving my landlord is now tring to claim that my deposit was non refundable and that I can stay in the property for an extra two weeks (which I don't want to do). I just want the money back.

I spoke to CAB who said that even with a verbal agreement I am entitled to get my deposit back as the law states that my deposit should go into the security scheme. I have pointed this out to my landlord and have given 14 days notice (I read on a few places that this was correct).

I was just wondering if 14 days was actually correct and if anyone had any further advice on getting my deposit back.

Please note that the property has not been damaged in any way, shape or form.

Thanks Louise
