My wife purchased a brand new Hyundai Coupe last August from a local dealer. two weeks ago she mentioned that the clutch didn't seem to be right and after test driving it myself, it was obviously slipping. The car has covered just over 14,000 miles and has a five year warrenty. The main dealer she bought the car from claims that the clutch is not covered under the warranty and my wife will have to pay for a new one. My argument is that a clutch on a brand new car should certainly last more than 14,000 miles and 11months motoring.

Where does she stand regarding this ? Any advice anyone ?

If it's nothing to do with driving style, then make a formal complaint in a recorded delivery letter citing the sale of goods act and the sale and supply of goods to consumers regulations.

When they reply to that, then you will be able to see what the way forward is.
