I'm just after a few more bits of advice regarding my 'debt' with CapQuest.

I sent the first letter, the SB one and have since received a reply saying that I paid them £20 five years ago! They have only sent this - no proof that I did - and i really don't remember doing this.

What do I need to reply back? They are demanding full paymnet of the balance.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

Ignore them for now, if they continue to pursue make a complaint to Trading Standards via Consumer Direct as they will be in breach of OFT guidelines. The onus is on them to prove you made a payment within the six years not you that you didn't. :rolleyes:Consumer Direct - Contact us

Yes ignore them. This could just be an entry a debt company put on the account at the time.

No point writing or saying anything more. If you challenged them, they might reveal the card/account number used to make the payment, if they have it. At the point this payment was registered, this might have been with a different company, so might not be easy for them to get the information, if not on file.

We could do with some help from you.
