Hi all,

I've lurked on here for the past couple of weeks and have finally plucked up the courage to post....

I've seen that a lot of you have been / are in the same predicament as me. basically I have a number of payday loans running and I am at the point now where I just can't afford to pay them.

I have cancelled my debit card and have drafted emails to the lenders, proposing payment plans, which I will send tomorrow (D-Day) but am feeling really sick / scared as to what will happen now. The main thing I am worried about is the phonecalls at home and at work as I don't want the people I live with / work colleagues finding out.

Really could just do with other people sharing their experiences / stories.

Thanks :(

Hi CrazyCat!

Firstly WELL DONE for taking the first step - you have absolutely done the right thing and you will feel much better for doing it.

Like Jamie says, if you can let us know which companies you're dealing with you can lay bets that at least one of us will have dealt with them and will be able to help. We're here for you!

Ok here goes... Know it's too late to regret doing what I did but I have loans with:

Wonga

Payday Uk

Payday express

Moneybox 247

Cash genie

QQ

1 month loan

Wonga, QQ, PDUK and MB247 are due tomorrow and the others later in the month.

Sick of barely managing the interest and know I'm doing the right thing but just scared of the onslaught of calls...

Thanks for your support!!

Crazycat,

Please take some professional advice regarding your debt try the CCCS or even the national debt line it wont make the debt go away but may give you some confidence to deal with these people.

Wonga - difficult to deal with but if you offer a repayment plan over 12 months they should accept - send an email offering the plan and wait 24 hours for a response - if you dont get a response let me know and i'll PM you the director's email address

Payday Uk - easiest to deal with - offer a plan over 12 months - financial problems, blah blah - and they will give you bank details to pay direct

Payday express - if you can prove you are going through a hard time they'll help - start by offering a plan run over 6 months and see where you go...

Moneybox 247 - cant stand them and not sure what to advice ! SORRY!

Cash genie - the worst of the whole lot - they will send you emails offering you a loan and even a consolidation loan - its all part and parcel of cash genie trying to get your card details -

QQ - very difficult to deal with - send an email offering an amount for x months and they proably wont respond - then wait for it to be passed on and deal with them.

1 month loan - not sure what to advice - try sending an email to split payments over 6 months and see what they say.

PAY EVERYONE DIRECT - NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR CARD DETAILS TO ANYONE AS THEY WILL CLEAN OUT YOUR ACCOUNT...

Let me know if i can be of any further help.

Thanks very much for your help, Jamie - I have had the automated email responses from Wonga and 247MB and have responded to them. QQ haven't even got in touch with me yet, so will sit tight and wait for that to come through.

I definitely won't be giving out my new card details!!

I'll just have to tought it out

Hi,

Basically the 15th arrived and I send emails off to the relevant lenders

Wonga - they rejected my offer of £15pm as too low, so I responded and said I was open to negotiating an alternative offer, but they will not enter into any more discussions with me once they receive a token payment, which they will receive soon.

PDUK / QQ - we're playing email ping pong at the minute as they are trying to get my debit card details from me and I'm trying to get their bank details

247MB - Literally sending me the same email over and over again and I am responding with the same response, that I need their bank details and I want to come to an arrangement. However, they are starting to call me at work so I shall be sending a harrassment letter / email to them later today.

As for Cash Genie, Payday Express, 1Monthloan and Lending Stream, I'll deal with them on the 30th....

However, I have to say that things haven't been as bad as I expected them to be, but we'll see...

From what I gather Cash Genie are horrid and PDE are ok, anyone have any advice on LS or 1ML?

Thanks

Lending stream are ok to deal with but will ask for proof of your financial circumstances before they agree to freeze interest. Deal with them by email and keep a record. They will accept 30 per month, though if you dont have this mention debt management which they will try to avoid. keep us posted

By the way, has anybody had a half decent experience with cash genie? Am absolutely petrified they might send letters to neighbours / and my employer from the other things I have read on here..I might just get in touch before D day just to see if I can negotiate earlier....

they are ****s - and i really dont like using that word (sorry) the worst of the lot, they will keep badgering until you pay. The best thing you can do is ANSWER your phone everytime and tell them what you can offer, that way they cant say you ignored them! - call them before d-day it may be good for you... NEVER give card details, NEVER EVER!!!!

Good advice from jamie. If you are feeling stressed and unable to deal with calls, email them and say. Ask tem to liase with you via email and respond to everyone. Its a good way of keeping on top of the situation and also gives you a record of whats been said. If they dont reply keep sending with 2nd email, 3rd email etc at the top. It will loook bad on them if they dont respond to your predicament.

Hi Crazycatlady

I was able to pay Cash Genie back over 3 months (they were one of my smaller loans) and if I'm honest they were ok to deal with and set the plan up quickly via e-mail and the calls/letters and interest stopped immediately. I was really worried about dealing with them but they weren't as bad as I thought. I spoke to Darryl Arbon - [email protected].

I guess they are more difficult if you have to spread the repayment plan over more than 3 months

Good luck
