    • Ah but if I didn’t pay PRA group could they default me?
    • We have a damp problem in a party wall in a Victorian terrace.  Both I and my neighbour have single storey extensions at the back (actually the front, but the back as originally built...) with roof terrace / patio area above, and a brick wall dividing the two terraces. This is standard in the road. (They also have a small conservatory joined to the first floor over part of their roof terrace) Some years ago we noticed that the internal party wall below the terrace was showing some signs of damp. We asked the neighbours if they had noticed a similar issue but they refused to engage with us. We hoped it was a condensation issue, and it was only occasional.  Over the years the dampness has got more frequent, and a couple of years ago we had our terrace completely redone, with the old flooring removed, new felting put down, new lead flashing, and decking on top. I stripped the wall below back to plaster and re-papered and painted. Last year the damp returned, but much more noticeably. We use a dehumidifier and can "extract" a couple of pints of water from the downstairs hallway sometimes - regardless of weather. There is black mould at the top of the wall, and it's clear the damp is coming top-down. I've lifted all our decking, put sealant along all felt joints, and silicone sealer between the lead flashing and brickwork that forms the dividing wall between terraces.  Since then there've been occasions when there has been surface water running down the wall, even when it's not rained.  We're pretty certain it's when the neighbour waters plants on the terrace.  The neighbours still won't engage, but we have persistent black mould, the paper is peeling off and the wall is wet from the top.  To check it's not our roof, at times when the wall has been dry I've thrown buckets of water at our side of the dividing wall on the terrace (and this obviously drains down onto the felting below the decking). The downstairs interior wall is unaffected by this - confirming the problem is coming from the neighbour's side. So what to do? Is this something we should be referring to our insurers? If the neighbours fail to fix the root cause (which is presumably perished roofing under their conservatory, or blocked drainage etc), is there anything we can do to stop it affecting us?  The internal wall is structural so I'm not really sure how a builder would approach the problem without access from the neighbour's side too.  We're planning on selling within the next 2 - 3 years but in its present state it's hard to see how someone would take it on, at least without a big price drop.  Any suggestions very welcome!

    • Hi,
I was in Sainsbury’s today and did scan and shop.
I arrived in after a busy day at work and immediately got distracted by the clothes.

I put a few things in my trolley and then did a shop.
I paid and was about to get into my car when the security guard stopped me and asked me to come back in.

I did and they took me upstairs.
I was mortified and said I forgot to scan the clothes and a conditioner, 5 items.
I know its unacceptable but I was distracted and Initially hadn’t really planned to use scan and shop.

      No excuse.
I offered to pay for the goods but the manager said it was too late.
He looked at the CCTV and because I didn’t try to scan the items he was phoning the police.

The cost of the items was about £40.
I was crying at this point and told them I was a nurse, just coming from work and I could get struck off.

They rang the police anyway and they came and issued me with a community resolution notice, which goes off my record in a year.
I feel terrible. I have to declare this to my employer and NMC.

They kept me in a room on my own with 4 staff and have banned me from all stores.
The police said if I didn’t do the community order I would go to court and they would refer me to the PPS.

      I’m so stressed,
can u appeal this or should I just accept it?

      Thanks for reading

How far in advance can you reserve item that are going to come out in argos?

What are you trying to reserve?

To be able to reserve an item it must either be in stock, or be in the warehouse that services the store, or already be on its way to the store.

When you reserve an item it is reserved until the end of the next working day from when it was reserved or delivered to store. This can be extended by up to two weeks at the discretion of the store, there usually are no problems doing this.

With regards to items that are not yet stocked in Argos only items advertised on the website for pre-orders (usually restricted to video games) will be able to be ordered mostly via the website.

If an item is not available in the warehouse then it is not possible to reserve the items they MUST be in the warehouse that services the store.

Items from the new catalogue a) Is considered sensitive data its hard enough for non-management to see this information let alone the public, b) Cannot be reserved until the 24th July when they go on sale (Technically its possible, but the company has ways of tracking such system actions)

Unfortunately we do not allow for advanced reservations for such items, Argos does offer a free delivery pre-order which you could always take advantage of.

Can I still reserve it on the day it comes out 16th.

You might be able to reserve the item on the 15th if you are really lucky as the flag that will prevent in-store reservations will be changed at the time they shut down their computers. Though this might be restricted by an internet flag but try about 15m after a store closes and you might hit it lucky.

You will be able to reserve the item in store on the 16th regardless.

Be aware that some stores may restrict or not allow reservations, and it is one per customer. If you reserve more that reservation won't be there when you arrive.

I certainly will be ensuring that we have xboxs available for general sale in my store (i.e not able to be reserved)

We rang up the customer services and they said that we can reserve it at bournemouth, ringwood road. at about 1min after midnight they also said that ringwood road bournemouth they had four new xbox's.

Do you think that the customer services were lying about the renervations? I am not trying to offend Argos because most of the time they are quite helpful and I buy from them quite alot.

Thank you so much for answering these questions.

Many stores have them in, I think we have had some since about Sunday. Customer services certainly won't be lying.

Some stores in popular areas get many who try to buy in bulk to resell, we obviously want to keep them in the hands of genuine customers. The company hasn't released anything regarding a company policy to restrict reservations so you should be fine.

ok you have thank you for all of your replys the real reason i wanted to post this thread is because well this is the story.

My xbox had some really bad problems and in the end it just broke so I rang up microsoft and I was on the phone for an hour and then the guy just put the phone down. So I rang back and they said just take it back to the shop. So I took it back to the shop (Ringwood Road, Bournemouth) and I spent half an hour in there (I was talking to the manger). He was really good about the problem. He then rang the warehouse and they said that we could have the new xbox 360 250gb early. So I bought the xbox 360 I did say though that it was not realeased to the 16th july (they said we could have a week and half early) so I waited in all day that wedensday and it did not arrive. I then rang customer services, the guy said that they were wrong to tell you that you could have a week and a half early. Thats when he said that we should reserve it 1min after midnight.

So there you have it that is the whole story.

thanks for all the replys again

If you have paid for it then would you not have had a pre-order in which it should be delivered on Friday? The tills are set to a flag to not sell them from stock, and they only came in on Sunday to stores?

With stock now in you can try to sympathise with the manager to keep one aside from you, stores have now been instructed to place all stock in "reservation" so it cannot be sold accidentally by staff (if a person at the till for some reason override the flag). If a store has extended this off-sale reservation, or doesn't do it until tomorrow then they would not show as in stock on Friday.
