Hi Guys

Does anyone know what the next step is when Barker and Lowe refuse your payment offer?

Does this go to another Debt Collector?

Any help would be appreciated!

dont think so, i think you'll just need to continue to negotiate - make a counter offer and see what they say...

Report Barker and Lowe to the Solicitors Regulatory Authority for bad practice, and report Wonga to the Ministry of Justice - this body seems to have teeth to deal with firms who exist to fleece customers.

You may get a series of emails from another company, and a threatened visit by Marstons or Phillips, in both cases the company is acting as a common debt collector and NOT as a bailiff and will be misrepresenting their powers, so a report on them is due as well (should they still use these companies).

Barker and lowe do pass on. I have seen them pass on to 1st credit amongst others. Not such a bad thing to be honest. I suspect that the more it is passed on the easier it will be to negotiate on your terms.

Thanks very much for this guys! You are awesome!

I will email them again with my payment offer.

Sillygirl - would the Solicitors Regulation Authority still be able to help if I am based in Scotland?

I am sure they will be able to deal with them because the case will be in ENgland. I would keep trying to get a small settlement figure but would also request a copy of the credit agreement in the hope they can't produce one

Can anyone who has received these letters from barker & lowe make complaints to the foslink3.gif as it's unnecessary harassment and misleading. The more complaints lodge the more pressure on the Ombudsmanlink3.gif to take action against these clowns
