I was a member of a gym, but due to a change in my job, in May decided to cancel my membership.In May I wrote a letter to the above company who collect the monthly subs on behalf of the gym and cancelled my dd to them with effect from July 1st.

 

Today I got a snotty letter 'fining' me £10 and asking me to either pay the missing sub or if I want to cancel, pay the missing sub, plus an extra £34 for next months sub as a months notice is required.

 

I called them to inform them about my letter, but they say they have'nt recieved it and want the money.

 

I told them they were not getting it as I had ceased my membership in accordance with their rules, and i am not responsible for their poor admin. They did'nt seem to happy. I expect more from them....

I thought that once you have posted a letter its the recipients property or something like that.

if you could fleece someone out of a few more £'s by saying that because you 'have a legally binding contrick - sorry contract' with us.
