Have we got any chocolate makers out there who use Valrhona, and if so, where do you buy it from??

The place I use is ceasing it's partnership with them and I just can't find a viable alternative stockist. I use HB Ingredients (who supply Vantage House so I guess they will also stop stocking it) who charge a very reasonable £33ish for 3 kilos and no minimum order - the only other place I can find that stocks it in bulk is the Chocolate Trading co but they are charging £60ish a kilo!!

Please help anyone, it's my utter favourite to use when I'm making stuff to impress. I'm happy with Callebaut for most stuff but occasionally you just need the top chocolate, and there's no way I can afford to buy it from the supermarket as it's about £3.50 for 100g:eek:

Thank you!!

No idea, but have you tried contacting Valrhona themselves and find out how much they would charge to deliver to the UK? Or failing that, how much they sell it direct, I could then get someone to work out how much it would cost to send it here and maybe collect it from Tain l'Hermitage? (Lyon is my home town)

I've only just worked out why they're called Valrhona btw! Val(lee) (du) Rhon(e) a: Rhone Valley, the area where they're based. Durrrr.

Well bugger me, I didn't know that!:D You learn something new every day.

That's a really lovely offer bookie, but as far as I've found out they are very strict about selling (ie only retail), and it's in very large quantities, so I don't think it's viable for me.

Thanks though
