Son sent his driving licence off for a change of address, they say it takes 15 working days. He had enclosed a £20 postal order for the fee as he had lost the paper part of his licence as well.

2 days after he sent it away he got a letter inviting him to an interveiw. He needs to take the licence so he rang the company and explained and they said they would hold his interview.

This was 5 weeks ago and the licence has not arrived. He has rung the DVLA 3 times but they just get stroppy and say they can tell him nothing till it arives on the system. He has emailed them explaining the position but they have just replied the same thing, advising him to 'give it longer' - give it 15 days before you can consider it lost, then 15 days for DVLA to process and if its not back then send another application form and another fee.

The best solution wouldbe to check if the postal order has been cashed- guess who threw the reciept away? Yes ME :(

Now we have a quandry because the job interview wont wait forever and if we re apply at this stage then we may have 2 applications on the go at the same time because DVLA say they cant even tell us if his application is in the building!
