My car has been clamped and taken away with the Bailiff on 1st July 2010. I bought this car on 21/01/2010 from a friend. My friend had a parking ticket on the same car before.

I explained to the clampers that I am a new owner but refused to release my car. They told me to pay £800 if I want to y car back.

The same Bailliff visited my Friend on march and collected £200 for the same purpose.

I am very confused what to do since I want my car back and I do not have the money.

Does anyone knows how the Bailliff cost calculated?, £800 for the parking ticket does enter into my head. The pcnlink3.gif was £140, how could figure rocket to £800?.

Please Help,

Thanks

No, I had no idea at all.

You really need to find out whether there was a levy on the car prior to you buying it. If they had you may find that you have a fight on your hands to get it back. Once a levy has been made the car becomes the property of the authority and cannot be sold. If there was no levy when you bought the car then you have a good case on your hands and you need to get some letters written to get YOUR car back. You may have to involve the police as it is classed as theft.
