We are seeing lots of TV adverts for free trial credit reporting which go on to charge high fees for checking your credit report, especially this one: Free Credit Report, Credit Rating Check & Fraud Alerts from Experian Credit Expert

What is wrong with the simple £2 statutory credit report?

If the £2 is a statutory fee, then how are they charging more for what seems to be the same thing with expensive marketing gimmicks?

thats nothing

there is a very big fleecing exercise been perpetrated by a co called

credit ref agency with mobile phone co's

it supposed to be free

but if you dont cancel it

they charge 19.95 PCM to your card.

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

I had a bad time trying to cancel with Experian, when I eventually got through to someone, he spent about half an hour trying to get me to stay with them

The last time I sent a cheque for a credit report, it bounced

I thought I had a bad time.

Their applicaiton form (with 3610 square boxes on it) wanted too much info - I binned it.

I sent a cheque for £2 with a simple one-line letter, and indeed, within 39 days I got a 10-page credit report.

Have you been to BBC watchdog program with this? They can video the cancellation call and put an on-screen counter showing the number of minutes it takes, and the number of £££'s it costs to cancel it.
