:-xI have had a listing for a pop up tent removed. A company called tanning cubicle co (apparently the rights owner) have said I cant sell it.

1) the tent is not made by this company, infact is not made by any tanning co, and was not listed as such - is just a pop up tent.

2) even is it was one of their tents, can you never sell it, you have to keep it forever?

3) I've now lost all my bids, how can I be compensated?

What are my consumer rights, my auction was flying and now I;ve lost the lot because this company have contacted ebay - no questions, no warnings - help

You cannot. Use Gumtree or your local paper. Ebay will have accepted their assertion that they wish to control the retail sale of thew brand, and will have to have provided proof. EU laws are being changed to prevent sale, however where this was supossedly for 'new' items, there is some spread on this to the sale of either.

You are entitled to a refund of your listing fees, so make sure you get this.

Under what law can someone tell you you can or cannot sell certain products unless under licence like software etc or is Ebay trying to control markets now?

I'm still not clear on what you're saying. You say E-Bay are now stopping people selling certain goods and that only certain retailers can? Surely this goes against the principles of ebay? Basically this would turn ebay into something like Amazon or have I got the facts wrong?

eBay = principles? :) :) 8)

Ebay have a long list of items they will not allow to be sold. Postal Frankming Machines and Nazi Memorabillia to name only two. Add to this anything that a brand owner says contravenes something, and it'll get pulled.

As for it being like Amazon - I wouldn't know, as I don't sell through them.

yes I can understand certain products not being listed there but this is a case of a company stopping her selling a product that is allowed on there in this case simply a popup tent. What grounds could this company stop the sale of this product?

Absolutely no idea - the colour?

If a VERO emember flags something to eBay, they'll pull the listing. The simple solution is to sell elsewhere, as therte isn't much point beating yourself up over the injustice of it all.
