Our landlord is serving us with a 'section 8' eviction notice as they believe this will be the fastest way to get us out of the property, not according to the sticky on this thread... Anyone have any experience of this or timescale we may have in total before we are turfed out???

We are in rent arrears so the council wont house us, we have no children so we arent a 'priority' and they will say we have made ourselves 'intentionally homeless', my husband works in construction for various agencies and when a contract comes to an end he moves onto another job, at the moment he cant find anything else, hes been out of work for 6 wks.. I need to know roughly how long it will take for them to get a court order or any other advice??

Depends on when your landlord can get a Court date which will depend on how busy the Court is. If an order is gained it will be up to the Judge as to how long you get before it comes into force. You would have to tell the Judge that you need time to find somewhere else to live.
