Good not in box-please help

Hi guys, ive just bought a camera from my local Currys store and ive come home, opend the box and it isn't in there. Everything is there but the camera itself. Ive rang the helpline number but they are now closed.

Can anyone give me any help/advice in what i can do because i dont know how im going to prove that it was acctually in there in the first place.

Strange that the weight did not alert you ?

 

How was the box packaged ?

Had it been opened/tampered with ?

 

Where did they take the box from at the point of sale ?

 

You are right to say this will be hard to prove.

Contact them when they open.

Is there a name on the sales reciept ?

Ideally you should try to speak to the person who served you.

Only thing I can think of is that the camera has been taken out for display maybe ?

Good Heavens its probably on display, but just why do the store not but a sticker or something on the box to say that the item is on display or put the boxes to display items on another shelf away from stock its not rocket science.

I would of thought they will be able to do an audit/stock count on that item that should show up your item.

They already do.

 

We have big red roundalls that say "Display box".

 

Anyway, just return it to the shop and see what they say, all it'll take is a quick check to see if their display box is missing.

Thanks for the replies guys, no i didnt feel the weight difference as all of the other parts were in there (eg) the manual, cables (etc). Also the box did not have a seal over it but did not look previously opend and once the guy had brought it out of the store room he took it straight to the counter and we paid for it and went. But again, thanks for your help, im going to the store in the morining and seeing what they say.
