I looked at my file over the weekend and there is a default issued by Capital One at a linked address which I lived at over 5 years ago. The account was closed and default was issued in mid 2008, last updated in Jan 2009. However since then the debt was sold to Lowells who wrote to me at my new address. They threatened me with a CCJ in late 2009. Hamptons Legal wrote to me in Jan 2010 threatening me with legal action and more recently last month Red Debt Collection wrote to me still threatening me with a CCJ and also mentioned paying "an amount of money" to close the account or repayment plan. However this debt still shows up on Equifax as a linked address.

Does anyone know whether theses guys will issue a CCJ?

Does this mean the default should be removed from my file mid 2014?

Do creditors look at entries from linked addresses when making decisions?

If I offer to pay this will it open flood gates for any other debts from previous addresses I forgot about, or may have stopped paying through debt consolidaters as recent as 3 years ago?

Alternativley, as the credit limit was £200 and the amount due now is 600 obviously increased through charges and DCA fees, would it be worth cahllanging the authenticity of the Credit agreement as it was issued in late 2003 (last payment made in between 2007 and 2008 through misunderstanding with a mortage broker)
