OK boys and girls, after poking my naughty question into another thread I have now read the majority of the rules ...sorry Legal Pickle and Sexyfufu

I am currently since Oct 09 fighting a complaint with Thomas Cook regarding our awful Cyprus Wedding / Honeymoon.

Basicially we booked our wedding and it was a total shambles.

I have sent photographic evidence to Thomas Cook of dangerous wires in our room , mould , broken glass , dangerous play area , holes in curtains , holes in bed linen and the dangerous childrens play area . ruse staff , rude Thomas Cook rep , etc etc and now finally after them not answering any of my questions they have offered me £200 Thomas Cook vouchers plus £50 extra for taking the vouchers .

So after a lot of hassle from myself , letter writing and general anger they offer my Thomas Cook vouchers - I mean why would I want to use them again !!!

I am now at the end of my string , I have opened the case with Abta but we feel its not really worth the time and we haven't got the time for court proceedings .

I would like any advice if I can request money from Thomas Cook at 50% of my holiday (£700ish) and £200 for loss of enjoyment . Obviously with a breakdown of why I want this amount and why I don't want it as blooming vouchers . Am I better requesting 100% of the hotel fees and agreeing lower ?

Any post would be gratefully received

Hi,

I think you need to explain this in more detail, including all photographs you have.

Why do you not have time for small claims court, If your not prepared to go all the way then there is no way you will get anywhere near 90% back.

You are asking for 80% back how do you justify that.

If you read all my case you will see i am not even trying to claim back 60%, and we had a lot go wrong on every leg of our holiday.

:p I will cover the basics from my memory as the letters are not on this laptop.

We arrived at the airport to have hassle with our wedding luggage , arrived in early afternoon at the resort was woke at 10pm with champayne & flowers , we have a small child and this should of been on arrival .

We asked to move rooms due to over grown trees, view of carpark , noisey, mould on the walls , air con didn't function, dirty running water , holes in curtains and bed linen , holes in my toddlers cot base . We couldn't move due to the hotel being fully booked . The rep told us it was the end of the season and we couldn't move room or move hotel.

Second night my son was taken ill and rushed to hospital due to chest problems . Due to this we were stuck at the hospital over night and the next day , which resulted in us missing our wedding meeting with hotel organiser - although we did make Thomas Cook rep aware we were away from the hotel and also the hotel knew due to the ambulance arriving.

The Hotel manager made our lives awkard after this , our wedding was 20 mins late although we was ready and all guests , wedding organiser was rude , rushing us and we couldn't finish our photos due to them being late and another wedding starting .

That evening we moved rooms , we were told that this was our only choice and it was up two flights of steps with a toddler. We moved for the reason we didn't want a mouldy room when our son was on medicines due to chest problems nor the poor decor and noise. This was explained to the hotel staff but they were un interested and we felt we had not other choice for our sons health.

The play area was dangerous and could not be used.

We also as you can read had hassle for the entire 14 days. Sadly none of our wedding / holiday is an enjoyable memory  .When it should of been the best time of our lives , which I am sure you can understand. I am just thankful my family and friends were with us and we could leave the hotel for some quality time.

All our complaints were in writing before leaving , this was with the hotel , Thomas Cook wedding rep and Thomas Cook Hotel rep.

We have photographic evidence of our complaints, but we don't have the time for small claims court as I am a full time working mummy and my husband works long hours too. We would be happy with 50% back as the entire 14 days were ruined , but as I have never done this before I was asking advice if they offer you less or not.

I may have forgotten some of our other complaints but here you have the basics :)

Any advice appreciated ..Ktbelle
