Hello all.

Philips Specialist Baliffs and Debt Recovery Agents..... Darlington......

I received a letter from these people today still in pursuit of the same debt Lowells were a little while back.

Are these cowboys just another debt collection agency or might i actually have to contact them?

I have a feeling this debt will be statute barred the end of next month, although they seem to be pulling one since the date they put on the letter is june last year.

Please can you help aleviate my fears you lovely lot.

incidentally i did get a deceiving letter regarding this debt from Provident last month saying that they had been given the debt and they were going to send someone round to arrange a doorstep repayment scheme, and then at the end of the letter it said for me to contact them if i wanted them to assume the debt. hmmmmmm

Thanks! Just as i suspected.

I have not done anything regarding this debt except ignore the letters! the letters come through and they get collected in their own special drawer.

We reached a stalemate the last time i dealt with Link Financial (who had the debt first) (2001/2002) as they were unable to provide a copy of my original credit agreement or what the debt was actually for, and it's gone no further.

it is a breach of a bailiffs licence to act as a debt collector- whether he uses the title or not - he can only act on warrants

write and demand to know which magistrates court they were licensed at as you wish to make a formal complaint

(the bailiff is "bonded" to the court in the sum of £10,000)
