Hi all, Been a while since I last posted on here, however I am having a few problems with a payday UK loan I took out last year. I originally took out a loan with this crowd for £350. The interest is £90 a month and I still owe them the £350 although I have paid them back £540 (6 payments of £90). I am having difficulty meeting these payments and I have just been paying back interest. I am wondering what would happen if I defaulted on my payments? Can this be put on my credit file? Its with PDUK (Payday UK)...... Or what other options is there available to me??

Thanks in advance.

Jack

Hi Jaxo

Have a good read through these forums. You will get lots of hints on how to deal. You need to get off the rollover merry go round and the only way you can do this is by losing/reporting your debit card stolen. You will then be in control of your finances and they won't be able to help themselves.

You can then negotiate. Personally I would fight them as they have already had their pound of flesh from you. Peronally I think you have paid them enough already.

Good luck.

Thanks for this robjam, Was thinking of "loosing my card" so they couldnt get anymore and making them an offer of x amount a month or somthing. My only concern is that they might default my credit files. I have worked hard over the past few years (with the help of this forum) to get it good and I dont want to mess it up with a default. Can they default these types of account if I failed to pay?

They can default them and mark your credit file albeit very rarely done. Hopefully someone else may comment on whether this has happened to them. I would make it clear that any future payments are subject to no information being recorded and get this undertaking in writing.

If you pay them nothing more you are probably at their mercy. Even then not sure they would record info.

Cheers, going to call them in the morning and tell them I cannot afford it and i`ll order a new debit card. Hopefullt they`ll be understanding, Tbh I dont mind paying it. If I can pay them £30 a month with the interest frozen I will happily do this. its just the £90 payments a month are too much for me. Fingers crossed they will be sympathetic

Hi jaxo uk,

when you say you stopped paying them a few months back, do you mean youve paid them off....or haven't paid them anything? Did they freeze the interest for you?

I am about to default on a few pdls....paydayuk being one of them and was hoping to hear how others have got on....just getting prepared and would like to know what to expect from this company

Thanks
