I've recently been told that I can claim back overpaid amounts going back a full 6 years and 364 days, (i.e almost 7 years) anyone know if this is correct and anything online I can view ?.

I have the Limitation Act here but it only makes reference to 6 or 12 years, I assume it means full years.

Check out Section 32 (I think it is) of the Act, as I believe if you've only just discovered, for example, that you made the payments by mistake, the limitation period starts from the time of your discovery.
