as for the account itself, open another one, at least you will have ure 3 grand

9 August - "HISTORIC STMNT FEE- £5.00" showing on online bank

Same happened to us. Sent first letter and the next thing we knew a letter saying "pay us back overdraft, loan etc or your gone in 30 days":o

Personally I think its down to how fiesty your account manager is feeling!

Sent a letter saying the account is in dispute, speak to me when its over!

I have had the same from Nationwide but so far have not even had a response of any kind from 14day letter to NatWest - dont care either as long as they give me the money back I will take my business elsewhere - fine by me

actually its in reply to `grapes` on an earlier thread when he states that the bank asked him to pay back the loan / overdraft... i just want to know what will happen if you dont do what the bank asks?

what action can they take?

Thanks for the replies guys. No I didn't have an overdraft and I was not given 30 days notice either. In fact letter telling me after a review of my account they no longer wished to offfer me facilities arrived after my ATM card was eaten andmy online and telephone banking withdrawn.

if i move my salary to anew account before i start my claim, could the nat west keep any refund towards any overdraft i owe?

 

Probably - but they don't seem that bright but even if they do it is a least a debt out of the way.
