HI, i have 2 AOE about to hit me next month, one for unpaid council tax and one for unpaid court fine (car tax).

Council tax is the earlier of the 2.

Also next month my employer is taking back some overpayments.

Question 1. can my employer take back the overpayment BEFORE the AOE hits my take home? (hope so):(

Question 2 which is the priority AOE would it be council tax as it went in earlier?

Question 3 Looking forward to April, i am looking at clearing the Council tax one, but it looks like i have a dilema as the council tax is 50% over £2020, but the court is £50% over £1480, so in therory if i clear the first, i can then get hit for 50% over £1480 with the second??

ex if i took home £2400 in april, with £450 left outstanding for the council tax, this would leave me with £1950, the second AOE will kick in and i will get hit again for £235 ish

Does this look right, if so i would be better off earning a bit less so the first AOE protects me a bit in April, if that makes sense.

Anyone advise please????
