Jake buys a “Vision On” television using a credit card. When he got home it gave him an electric shock that renders him unconscious. He regains consciousness and saw that the TV is on fire and has set light to his curtains, which are worth £750. Puts of fire but burned his hands. He is a contract cleaner and cannot work for 6 weeks. He took the matter up to the shop, but the manager says that it is not his company’s problem as it did not manufacture the TV. He also points to the clause that Jake had signed stating that the shop is not responsible for refunds for defective goods.

In this case, does the Consumer Credit Act section 75, takes place? Because it states that if the product turns out to be faulty, the credit card company shares responsibility to refund you the entire amount? IS IT???

And from this case, what is Jake entitled to claim for?
