I've searched all over the forum and couldn't find anything on the subject. Essentially my rent is due on the 20th but my pay comes on the 28th. I can afford it but I'm stuck a month behind, constantly dipping into my overdraft or credit card to pay it, then wait until the 28th to recover it. The small charges are getting annoying and I wanted to move the date to the 28th. Paying the 8 days up front then paying the rent out normally after that.

The landlord agreed but has said he can't "make the change" until after April. So I'm a bit stuck as to what to do. First of all, I pay the money in, I'm not sure what change there is to make. If I have to pay late, it's the same result except now I'm paying him "late".

What are the rules here? Can I twist his arm in any way to let me do it early so I don't risk paying late or getting bank charges? Or do I just suck up the charges and wait it out?
