Can anyone help me? I worked in the civil service and left in 2002. They foolishly paid me 4 months wages after I had left. Of course they asked me to repay it and unfortunately I did not have the money, so I just ignored subsequent demands!

Eventually, they started proceedings and I duly got a ccj in 2003/2004 I am not sure. I started to pay this, but after a short time they sent me a letter saying that they were changing the way the payments were received and I did not hear from them again until late last year.

I have received today a demand from ccscollect indicating that they are going to send the boys round in 72hours unless I pay up. I still can't pay.

What is my best plan anyone?

Hi EFR and welcome to CAG:)

A CCJ will not be statute barred but if you have not acknowledged this debt for many years I think the DCA will have to reapply to the courts to enforce it.

I would send CCS the prove it letter. The link is posted below.

Lets see what they come back with.

Do not speak to them by telephone EVER.

Keep everything in writing and send recorded delivery.:)

CCS seem a bit - secretive? Anyway, I found this site for them if that's any help:

https://www.ccspay.co.uk/index.php?page=forgot_password

It's nice to know that debt collection agencies and solicitors are cosying-up with each other these days  I also like the way that you can't find out their telephone number unless you have a login.

This is also them:

And this one for good measure:

http://www.ccsg.uk.com/

Odd thing is that this company is called Commercial Credit Services while there's also another one with a very similar name called Commercial Collection Services:

ccscollect

I don't think these two can really be making that much money though, judging by the quality of their logos and web sites :-D Mmm...broken tags ahoy!
