Anyone heard of this lot?

 

Originally got PCN from UK Parking Control (UKPC) - went through about 8 letters of threats.

 

Now, about 4 months after the last letter, a 'Debt Purchased' letter. Claiming that a different company (Parking Collection Services Limited) has purchased the debt and is going to pursue it.

I want this to be true so much. I love the thought of one set of [problematic] buying something that doesn't exist from another.

 

It's probably only the original lot playing with a new printer though.

report that registration to Nominet. report the non trading to Companes House Compliance. reprot the buying a non-existent debt and trying to collect on it to Trading Standards. Something else... I remember, ignore their scuzzbal letters. just keep them safe - for evidence ! send copies to the bodies listed not the originals.

It appears I also have to join this forum. I've not heard from UK PC for nearly 5 months then this morning I get a letter from this new lot saying they have purchased the debt and plan to collect, ultimately threating court action.

My current plan is to ignore but the wife is starting to wobble !!

Unfortunately the letters come addressed to her as shes the registered keeper of the car, even though she was at work on the day of the invoice and left the car on the drive (I borrowed it for the morning !!)

yesterday I got a letter from Debt Recovery Plus Ltd who are the original company I had ignored, saying

 

thank you for your recent communication concerning the above parking charge notice

please rest assured that I have personally reviewed this case and carefully considered the various points raised. we shall not be cancelling this parking ticket we have been advised by our client that they are employed by XXXXXXXXXXXXX council to monitor the area and therefore the area is patrolled by them and the parking charge will stand

 

we appreciate that this is not the outcome you will have hoped for. unless you have any additional information that you have not already brought to our attention, this decision is final. although further communication will be noted and filed, please do not expect any responce from us except where you provide new evidance

 

I have made a complaint to companies house about them http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/complaintformcib.htm I spoke to a very nice lady there who said the only way they can do anything is by the public telling them. so if you have a letter from Parking Collection Services Limited, fill in the form, it is very easy and the information you need is on this forum

the land in question is said to be private. UKPC have got the contract to cover the it

 

the council is stratford upon avon

 

the ticket has been issued by UKPC not council ...(had it been a proper ticket I would have appealed as I had broken down then payed if the turned it down)

This selling of an alleged debt is just another letter to try and put pressure on, I mean what sort of idiot would by a debt when they don't even know who the debtor is?

I actually know the answer to my own question the half wit at Parking Collection Services.

Even safer than normal to ignore this clown.

This is Stratford on Avon council by the way, in case you missed the answer above. Like you I doubt if the council are actually employing these thugs.

This would certainly seem to be the operative word regarding the whole PPC fiasco as it is a very dodgy business relying on the general public's ignorance of the law

 

Hopefully many more will find this and similar sites and then they will be out of busines for ever

 

Spread the word to friends, colleagues relatives and all those who will listen and do your best to persuade the 'wobbly ones' as well.

This is a disgraceful turn of events and only goes to show that the government and councils are quite happy to purpetuate the public's misunderstanding of the law around private parking.

 

By the council "contracting" this management out to a PPC it allows the PPC to claim they are working for the council thereby adding an air of ligitimatacy to their invoices which I have no doubt they capitalise on in this and other locations they operate on.

 

If the council want to control parking on THEIR land, then all they need to do is introduce a TRO for that location and then they can issue LEGALLY ENFORCEABLE FINES to all who ignore.

Crem could you please explain what you mean by a TRO

I am new to all this private parking stuff and am fast having to learn due to my "ticket"

TRO = Traffic Regulation Order

or because it sounds like an off-road place I think it may need a

 

PPO = Parking Places Order.

 

Either way, there has to be a document produced by the council for that location explaining exactly what the restrictions and requirements for parking there are.
